Hey everyone,  

I know that there's no excuse for being this behind schedule - things went off the rails for me over the past year and it just got harder and harder to get life back under control. I put the book on the back burner while I was dealing with other problems, and I should not have done that. I can only apologize, and announce that things have finally been moving again over the past few months. 

Here are the details: We've found a new printer, and the new formatting has all been updated. However, we ended up having to change a few things to make the new layout fit, which meant that I have two additional pages at the end of the book. That's what I have been working on over the past month - writing and drawing an additional two-page story to complete the book. I'm now midway through inking these new pages, and will colour them over the next week or two.  

Then, I'll take one last editing pass through the book to make sure we didn't miss anything. All in all, I'm hoping to have the book to the printer by mid-July, and send out the PDF version of the book to all backers. At that point, it will be about two to three months for the printers to print, pack, and ship the books to my fulfillment service in the United States before they can be shipped out to you.  

That means that you have a little bit of time left to update your addresses. I'll leave the BackerKit orders open until the end of July - so you have until July 30th to update your mailing address if necessary. (To update your address, simply log in to BackerKit and update the information on your Pledge. I just wanted to remind you to get your cameo reference pics in as soon as possible. I've only received a few, and want to start working them into the Writer's Workshop storyline that's currently happening. You'll get to be writers! Or maybe just random people at the library! :)

Getting things moving again

Hey everyone,  

I'm so, so sorry for my long silence. It has been a heck of a year – The biggest holdup was the loss of our old printer. I have since found a new one, but they required slightly different print settings than the previous one, so I found myself basically redoing the whole book from scratch to adjust color setting, margins and such.  

Doing this might normally only have taken a few months, but like it said – it was a heck of a year. I over-committed myself to a bunch of freelance projects, and there have been some delays of a personal nature as well. The long and the short of it is that I am just now ready to get this book to print.  

What does this mean for you? Well, for starters, you will be getting your books soon-ish! I’ll continue to post updates as the book goes to print and is ready for shipping, and once the books are in the hands of my fulfilment service, they should go out in the mail very quickly. 

 Secondly, because it’s been over a year since the last update, I imagine that some of you may need to update your mailing addresses. If you do, please log into your account on BackerKit and simply edit your address. I won’t be locking the project done until late July-early August (when the books are likely to be printed), so you’ll have until then to update your addresses. I will be sending further reminders to do so, because I’d hate for anyone to get left out! 

Thirdly, I will be starting to work the cameos from the Guest Star backer level into the current chapter of comics. If you backed the project at this level, I will need a reference photo of you to draw from. Please send these photos to me at [email protected], Subject Line: Weregeek Cameos.

Hi everyone,

WOW, what a ride! Those last few hours were pretty crazy! Thank you all so much for such a great campaign and your never-ending support. I'm SO very grateful to everyone who backed this Kickstarter and I'm really eager to get it into your hands. I've been working on the layout for the book while this campaign has been running and I really think it's going to be the best one yet.  

So what's next?

The layout for the book is about 85% completed, and we've mapped out where all of the extra content will go. The biggest thing to do next will be to write, draw, and color all of the extras. I'll be keeping you updated on my progress with that, and maybe even posting some previews of the splash art and extra strips. :)

Backer Surveys:

Backer surveys will be on their way soon. I'll be using Backer Kit this time around, and while I've just started looking into all of the many options it comes with, I think that it will be a huge help to making sure that everyone's extras are nice and neatly sorted. Using Backer Kit also means that if you missed out on any extras during the campaign (like the sticker kit or upgrading from a regular book to an Artist's Edition), you should be able to add them once the Backer Surveys come around.
